Three months after escaping the Splatterhouse, Rick dons the Terror Mask again and returns to rescue his girlfriend Jennifer, who is still trapped inside the dreadful mansion.
A lot of the imagery in this is actually even cooler and more imaginative than the first game, along with a handful of memorable new setpieces, but the core gameplay is identical and there's even more unfair unavoidable damage, which is baffling since this was never an arcade game and had no reason to lean into the token-taker approach. Very fun to look at, unpleasant to play.
