The art, scope, humor and writing quality are a big step up from the first game, but it's also way more cryptic and obtuse. Lots of map screens give zero indication of where the exits are, there are multiple instances where the way forward requires some bizarre leaps of logic, and several items interact in some confusing ways or have unpredictable uses. With a walkthrough it's a really great little adventure, but it feels less like a puzzle game that you could reasonably figure your way through on your own.
