Silent Hill 4: The Room

About halfway through this game. As someone who had played every Silent Hill game except for this one, Origins, and Book of Memories, this is undoubtedly the most surreal entry in the series imho.

I just realized that this is technically a sequel to SH2

the story could have been interesting and the saving grace of the game if it weren't for Walter thinking that his mom is a fucking apartment. It's not even some pedantic detail which you can just look over, it's the entire reason Henry is pulled into the plot to begin with. It's the most mind-bogglingly stupid decision with the story they could have made. It's not helped by all the Disney Star Wars-tier connections to the other games. Makes the world feel incredibly small.

My least favorite of the original four, but the last relevant game of the series. In typical fashion, the US cover art is inferior to the other editions.

This would probably be my favorite after SH2 if it wasn't for the fact that the gameplay is genuinely horrendous. Not just janky and annoying like the other games, but actually an immense pain to play.
