RollerCoaster Tycoon 2

I remember when Sim City (2013) was in development, Maxis came out bragging about their agent based simulation, so advanced they would need to tap into server farms to simulate. Turns out that was crap. But this game (along with RCT1 back in 1999), had a much better implementation of the same concept. It was so cool to click individual people, and see their thoughts, and look at their preferences (and of course, put them on evil exploding death coasters, drown them, put them in prison, etc.). And the way they built into the larger park simulation...to see the statistics of your park not being represented with abstract meters, but instead composed of people's faces, was awesome.

Beautiful game that manages to stay pretty, despite how the years have worn it down. Lovely game I could recommend to most, if not all people.

a refined version that makes the original obsolete. added tons of new designs/themes for attractions/scenery and helpful tools that felt like they should have been in the original. nothing new in terms of gameplay or graphics but that doesn't matter at all because the original was timeless and this simply made it better instead of changing anything
