    Great improvement over the first with the classes and relics added. Sequence breaking the metroidvania aspect was a nice surprise.

    Is this still hard as nails? Found some of the schmup style boss fights in the first (with the sprawling projectiles) a bit too insane for my reflexive capabilities.

      I'd say it is harder than the first but it is also a game where you could potentially "grind" for better stats to compensate. There is one boss in particular that is essentially just dancing around projectiles. There are "house rules" modifiers you can use to make the game easier, though. I don't know if the original had that.

    improves on all fronts compared to the original, but roguelites have evolved so much since 2013 that i cant see this as one of the best

    great game but wayyyy too grindy. took me like 40 hours to beat it, but I grinded so much to get there and was too tired of it to do NG+. would've enjoyed it a lot more if it took 20 hours to beat and then do NG+ stuff after that.
