Title
Robotron is a 'twin-stick shooter', the second stick here being the C buttons, which works to some extent but is far from ideal. The game's story is apparently so unimportant that it only exists in the instruction booklet; you're thrown right into the two-hundred levels, which are all built on a square arena filled with enemies and traps and accompanied by obnoxious techno music. Bosses and anything else that shakes up the gameplay are rare, as are the powerups, which appear infrequently, are difficult to see and are boring to use. The frame rate tanks when many enemies are on-screen, a fatal flaw in this genre.
