Title
The emphasis on the Pitfall sequel is on very monotonous handling of obstacles that stretch on forever, and checkpoints that are simply way too far apart, in an uninspired environment that feels like it's missing much forethought and composition. Unlike the previous game, in here you have an infinite number of lives, an unheard feature in games of the Atari era. And yet, with the cruelty of the level layout and enemy placement, it is very likely to think of the infinite lives more as a curse than a blessing.

Sega's arcade remake of Pitfall II, in my eyes, completely manages to correct many problems this game had. I vastly recommend you try it out.
