Tbf it’s probably a lot closer to traditional tabletop RPGs than most actual video game RPGs are. You can tell it was originally designed as a tabletop game before it switched to a being a video game during development.

People also underplay just how much FPS combat there is a bit and overplay how difficult it is to get ammo for the memes..

It’s quite an easy game once you know what you’re doing, I think people just struggle on first playthrough because of the way it subverts a lot of game tropes. Like money is a pretty worthless resource in game and the best thing you can buy in shops and the cheap nuts and needles.. I think too many try to buy food from shops which is almost never worth it.

The common review meme is “I traded my first gun for bread” which is just about one of the dumbest things you can do in the game as the guns make the game way easier and food is easy to come by if you know to break into houses.

Same. Changeling route rules and has some of the most mind-melting moments in the game. Remember like trembling with anticipation of what was coming next everytime I met albino the first time I played her route, was some of the most “wtf is going on” moments in gaming.
