Pajama Sam: No Need To Hide When It's Dark Outside

I was born in 1993, which means I should've played this game, ideally, as per the suggestion of the box, between the years 1999 and 2002. To be fair I both played before being 6 and after being 9, on the acounts of being one of the most universally enjoyable experiences I've ever had playing a game. Like Spirited Away [千と千尋の神隠し], a work of art that can truly be grasped as long as you can grasp anything, Pajama Sam follows the funny misfortunes and shenanigans of young Sam, as he walks through the forest looking for all his lost belongings. Filled to the brim with quotable moments, characters with charisma, attention to detail that rivals its ability to be comical for every age with to likes of Shrek or Play Time or a Looney Tunes cartoon.

If you have kids or if you still cherish your inner child, give this one a try.
It's time worth spending.

I was born early enough in the 90s to have been exposed to this game (along with many other Humongous Entertainment titles) as a child and I have to say that this was the peak of them all, although the first Spy Fox game is a close second. The other users and reviews are correct: this is an extremely well written, original, funny, clever, immersive, and surreal game. It captures aesthetics of dreams, nightmares, and childhood imagination in a beautiful experience. This might sound crazy and cliché, and I say it somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but between some of the aesthetics, immersive interconnected world design full of short cuts to open up and discover, challenges to access new areas in the game, and brilliant hints about new areas and places to explore which make you excited to find out what lies ahead, it's truly the Dark Souls of point-and-click adventures made for kids (although it's not really that difficult). There's edutainment here but it's not too heavy handed, mostly just interesting puzzles and challenges throughout. If you have kids, I would definitely recommend this, and although it's not really made for adults, I was still charmed and entertained when I revisited parts of it when I wanted to go on a nostalgia trip.
