Title
The downfall of black box
This game is awful.
First off, the good stuff: Good soundtrack, music from nine inch nails, pendulum and amon tobin are among the best songs ever featured in a NFS game, but this is a subject for another site. That's it
Now the bad stuff: everything else, the car selection is ok but really it is more like an identity crisis between the more exotic (hot pursuit) and the tuner (most wanted and underground) side of nfs, the graphics are bad, the weird ass brown filter didn't really age well. The handling is clunky and irresponsive, the cars are weirdly understeery and very unnaturally, its like Black Box took the already understeery Carbon and made it 10 times worse. I think i could write a 10 page essay on how bad the AI in this game is, it is literally worse than every need for speed after hot pursuit 2, like the cars will literally stop on the road after a crash and when you bump them, it will start racing again, the rubberbanding is bullshit and not rewarding at all.
Fuck this game, fuck EA, we will miss you black box.

    maybe if the handling wasn't so shit (specially at faster cars) and the auto-teleport system was removed (they maybe did that to compensate for the fact that the open world feels really empty but who knows) and maybe this game could've been better

    I played this a ton back when my PS3 actually worked, but I remember doing nothing but abusing the glitches Dillano609 showcased on YT instead of actually trying to do the campaign. Was so disappointed when my PS3's laser stopped working.

    I also remember getting the PS2 version after the fact and it was just about one of the worst games I've ever played lol, I've never been so disappointed

    hate to admit it, but the haters were right about this game. what a shitshow. a more composed person would've just laughed at the absurdity, but i spent half the game in blithering rage at the insane mario kart meets pinball ass physics. the game can't even tell which direction you're going, it sometimes will steer your car in the wrong direction when you're reversing, and flips a coin to decide if it will put you in neutral or 1st when you start accelerating forward again (there is no reverse gear). at least the soundtrack is on the level and a map is probably the second best open world map after mw
