This time on Nancy Drew, a friend of a friend of a friend has asked you to help renovate an old Victorian mansion after numberous accidents. Accidents, that of course, were caused by ghosts. Absolutely. Message for once in the series, manages to not force you to go through the entire mansion twenty times to find the hotspot you missed. This time almost everything's nice and logical, and the few times it isn't is usually something you'll be searching over anyway. That's not to say that it isn't challenging, but it doesn't have quite the reverse bell curve the last two games had. Once you get into the mystery though, the game has a problem with resolving plot threads too quickly. Once you get past half the game it's no longer a question of who, but rather why. For a game that's still trying to make a question of what's going on, it's sadly a bit poor at it. There's minor improvements in graphics and GUI (arrows instead of a blue outline, yay!) but old complaints still hold true. Low-quality choppy animation and overly plastic skin textures are deep within the uncanny valley. I'd say this is where the series starts to get good and no longer reeking of the same bullshit that was killing other adventure games.
