I'll probably only write this one video game review, because, once again, I notice this stupid pattern I must rant about to feel good with myself. Hrem Hrem.
Monster Hunter is the sort of game that stays with you for long, even for years maybe, if you know how to play it. And I don't mean skill... It doesn't matter if you play 8 hours of it per day or just a quest here a quest there to get distracted either. Nowadays people can't enjoy their little videogames without "uuuhhh optimal builds woooaa".... I remember playing MHFU years back and not even knowing what a build was, finding everything for myself, just picking random pieces of equipment because they looked good, not even knowing what skills were until I was like G Rank. It pisses me of that everyone is so focused on farming this specific set and that specific set.and this specific weapon because it goes well with this specific set and this specific skill and this specific this and that. Such elitism... I simply refuse to play Monster Hunter with that sort of worry in mind, I like to go out there and farm the living shit just because I like how a weapon looks, and perhaps not use it even once, as long as it stays in my box for me to look at. Sure, I'm not saying you should be a fool and not take advantage of your knowlege in a game to make your own build, but nowadays internet is full of internauts looking for the "perfect builds", forever farming to get those builds and for what? Had their eyes set in the price at the end of the journey instead of taking the best out of their experience on the way there. Monster Hunter isn't about getting the best combination of equipment, it's not about being the strongest.... Monster Hunter is about farming for something YOU want and feeling accomplished when you finally get it. Monster Hunter is about finally defeating that goddamn monster that was haunting you for days and be greated with the possibility to forge it's equipments, NOT AUTOMATICALLY DISCARD THEM BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT YOUR BUILD OR PART OF WHATEVER WALKTHROUGH YOUR FOLLOWING TO ACHIEVE YOUR DEFINITION OF GREATNESS! Monster Hunter is about drawing your own path, not following someone else's...
Yet again, this phenomenon of everyone wanting to be like everyone else, lacking critical spirit, is recurrent, and I don't mean just with video games...
Anyways, in conclusion, I'm having a total blast with MH4U. Possibly my favorite game in the series. It lacks the tone and certain details of MHFU, but is also packed with tons of content and ridiculously different and varied new mechanics and an engaging little world of it's own. If you're new to MH, this is an excelent place to start, and if you're a MH fan already, your chin will drop to the floor with the tons of new stuff there is to learn and do!

Gonna be bummed when the 3DS servers go down. I played with so many people who had 2000+ hours on their character. Hope either private servers go up soon or Capcom ports this to modern consoles as part of the MH anniversary in 2023 and gives you the ability to transfer your save like you could with Generations for 3DS to Switch.
I can get used to the QoL of the old games but how the hell can you guys handle playing this on a 3DS. Terrible format for this game and it deserved some official ports to PC or even Switch
Are you playing it on a regular 3DS or New 3DS? With a c-stick, it is perfectly playable as it does normal camera control and you can map the ZL and ZR buttons to also be camera so you can rotate while attacking and keep an eye on stuff around you. It's something I honestly missed in World.
If you only have an OG 3DS, you could get a circle pad pro. Hell, Nintendo pretty much made that peripheral specifically for Monster Hunter.
