This game might have gone too far in the opposite direction of the first game's relentless difficulty. While I liked how forgiving it was in some aspects, that captivating edge of the first game has mostly been snuffed out. There's still a lot to like in this platforming experience. With the lack of difficulty you get to engage in the game's mechanics a lot more naturally and have fun with them.

There are some areas and one level that can EAT A DICK, but otherwise, the game feels more legitimately difficult than 1 which largely crumbles once you know what to do and you grind. That said, this game is very liberal with one-ups, which helps with some of the harsher levels and BS segments. Step up from Zero 1, but def not where Zero 3 and 4 are.
This is way better than the first one like what? Actual fleshed out and varied levels with some ultra creative stage gimmicks (like exploding Tellies used to blow walls) and actual reasonable elf prices. It does have some mild bullshit moments though.
