Title
I love the doom franchise, however I'm not a fan of these fan made maps as I find them to be rather uninspired compared to the official maps in the franchise. Also, I found it really hard to navigate the menus which was an extra chore for me during this experience.

Title
Fan made Doom maps
These were included in the Doom Collection for PS3, and its pretty much a bunch of fan made maps of varying quality. I'd say most of the maps are pretty generic and forgettable, not to mention have really odd design on certain maps, but there are a handful of pretty well designed maps, none of the maps come anywhere close to touching any of the maps of the first 2 Doom games though, and in terms of quality I'd put this just a step below TNT Evilution.

    Dr. Sleep's levels are all pretty solid, but Cranium's are completely miserable (Bloodsea Keep was alright), and the rest are just kind of forgettable. Not a great pack, all things considered.

    Most of this is honestly miserable. But especially props to Mephisto's Maosoleum [sic] for being the only official DOOM level I managed to softlock myself on - really great idea to make the Icon of Sin have extra "health".

    The fanmade MIDI music pack was right to call the track for this level "Icon of Put This Map in The Bin"

    I guess I'm in the minority that likes these levels over Thy Flesh Consumed or most of Doom 2?

    I think Doom 2 has absolutely awful level design (which is why I will never understand the praise it gets - the WADs made it good not the base game) but this is easily worse imo

      To each their own, the best levels of Doom II far out-do these, but I'll take these levels, as brutal as they are, over Doom II's fetish with pseudo platforming catwalks of death.

      I guess I'm either a sadist that loves levels like Mephisto's Maosoleum or I'm using a 60-fps source-port, which may make it much easier than Vanilla, even on hard.
