Mark of the Ninja

This is a solid 2D stealth game that tries to do some unique things. You have tons of weapons and abilities, and you can either go full stealth and sneak kill enemies from behind or go full assault and jump around while slashing your enemies, but at its core it is a stealth game where you will be hiding in the shadows and on high perches waiting for the perfect moments to sneak past areas. The game is pretty simple and easy enough, but isn't entirely linear and has secret challenges and things to explore. Its not particularly a difficult game and its solid enough for what it offers. Yeah the story isn't anything great, the game does get a bit repetitive, and there isn't much variety in design but for the most part its a competent 2D stealth platformer.

Mark of the Ninja is lowkey one of the best stealth games of all time. You really feel like a master assassin when you do things right and stick to the shadows, and feel awfully clumsy and vulnerable when not. And it also allows you to ghost your way through missions completly. There are always multiple ways to beat levels, and there are a lot of secrets to find. Its entertaining to explore levels, but even more its the way that you can toy with the enemies. Terrorising guards and having them shoot against each other is probably the highpoint of the game for me. The game has a huge variety of challenges, all thanks to its expertly crafted level design. Great flow and pacing as well.

The story didnt do anything for me, i couldnt remember much of it to be honest.

Visually it has that very characteristic Klei look, something that looks straight out of cartoon network.

Anyway great game, and i kinda wish it lasted longer. People should really not sleep on it.
