I enjoyed the intimate and mindtrippy narrative of the first game a bit more, and it's really bizarre to me how toned-down Durandal himself is considering how charismatic and interesting he was in the previous game. That said, the gameplay is even tighter, the shotgun is a great addition to the arsenal, and there's some pretty breathtaking level design to be found in this one. Lh'owon is a great setting, and there's a whole lot of great worldbuilding here. This series rules.
