Become Mad Max, the lone warrior in a savage post-apocalyptic world where cars are the key to survival. In this action-packed, open world, third person action game, you must fight to stay alive in The Wasteland, using brutal on-ground and vehicular against vicious gangs of bandits. A reluctant hero with an instinct for survival, Max wants nothing more than to leave the madness behind and find solace in the storied “Plains of Silence.” Players are challenged with treacherous missions as they scavenge the dangerous landscape for supplies to build the ultimate combat vehicle.
, i like all the movies so i was joyed to start playing it. i'll first say the optimization is amazing and so are the graphics and animations. after a few hours of playing it became very obvious a few things: the combat is terrible modern mash button to win with VERY little skill (batman, assassins creed combat..etc) its a growing trend in the industry and its disgustingly consolized and simplistic it becomes mindless quickly. next, the game forces a long length by making you grind for certain things just to play the next story mission. i could of easily completed the whole game in 8 hours but it forced me to mindlessly drive around playing simon says to get materials to craft things for some abitrary sense of progression.
it was really frustrating being stuck unable to play the next mission for a good 3-4 hours because i had to grind. crap mechanics. the driving feels fine, though, and the driving combat is fine too. the story is memorable enough with some decent characters (and some forced in ones as well) its really disappointing that there isn't a difficulty as the game felt really easy even without barely upgrading anything. (never got a single fighting upgrade because the combat is so fucking stupidly easy) a fun experience, but flawed massively.

Mad Max is one of those games that was hyped up a bit and supposed to be this awesome open World game where you could build your own vehicles and have these epic fights and races. Well it turns out for one the wasteland isn't too exciting to explore and that the combat and racing in this game is just average. Plus why the hell was this released so long after the movie came out. Either way its not a bad game, it does everything okay, it has a big World to explore, even if the World has practically no variety and all looks the same, the story is pretty average, the missions can range from mildly fun to mediocre, and the side content is your typical tedious, grinding bull crap you'd find in most open World games. The vehicle customization is mildly fun and its satisfying knowing your car gets more powerful and faster with upgrades but the combat is just bland and feels no different than any other third person game, and the most fun thing about this game was probably taking over the enemy bases but even that got old after a little. I mean in terms of gameplay its decent, but at the same time it isn't a must play game and there are way better open World games out there.

endlessly replayable, fuck yeah grab a beer crank some fucken chisel and just do doughys in the desert all day. for optimal realism max should've called someone a shit cunt before spear tackling them into a wall but overall vastly underrated gem
Though a little mindless at times, it's as strong an homage to Mad Max that I think we'll ever get, despite most of it's lore being set in the Fury Road incarnation of the series. And yes, Max has always been a better side character than protagonist. This definitely shows it here.
I get why this game underwhelms a lot of people because it’s got all the baggage of big open world games from that time, but I love it. Great design, good writing and voice acting, the explosions look fantastic, the map is just desolate and eerie wherever you go. I still get filled with dread anytime I encounter the Buzzards at night. You really get an anxious feeling any time you step out of your car to poke around and I love that.
What a mediocre fun game to play in small installments for a few hours when drunk over a couple of weeks when you're listening to records/podcasts. The mechanics are great. But it gets boring quickly. Something to take in small doses But story wise what do you expect from a game based on Mad Max
