Title
M.U.L.E. is a deeply intricate game for reasons which are tough to explain, but it's a strategy game where you need to plan ahead and know how to control your supply and demand. The game exponentially gets better the more human opponents you manage to drag into your game(and it makes for unforgettable nights), though the AI is competent and will provide a significant amount of challenge either way.

You don't really play the game to "win", even though it's encouraged, but in a paradoxical premise, you need to cooperate with your other players and make a stable space colony where food and energy are abundant. You have many ways to make great profits out of pricing your crops, but if you get too greedy, it will translate badly on your teammates, and on the planet, as a whole. Playing from experience, it's a really enjoyable game for four living players.

Fotunately, it has a modern port in the form of Planet M.U.L.E. for the PC, which is lightweight, portable, and quick and easy to set up for server or direct online connections. I highly recommend it.
