The events included on this one are pretty much the same as on Beijing 2008 with some differences: in track, 800m and 1500m are gone; in field, pole vault and hammer throw are gone; in shooting, 10m air pistol is gone; in gymnastics only vault survived as opposed to the 6 events in the last game; and judo is also no more present. New events are: synchronized diving, trampoline, keirin, single sculls and volleyball.

Regarding only events available this seems at first a downgrade from last summer Olympics game, however the overall production value, gameplay and graphics tell otherwise.
Given its age it is no surprise that this is graphically superior than all other Olympic games that came before, it has really some amazing details. The interface has also never been so sleek, in a clearly needed upgrade from the last 2 Olympic games from Eurocom. Another big plus is the support for a gamepad (right from the start it says that a gamepad is recommended) that certainly fits this type of game where buttons get smashed. It is not the first game of its kind to support a gamepad but it is the first one where my gamepad is fully functional, so thumbs up for that.
The gameplay also hits the spot without being too basic or overly complicated. In my opinion the best Olympics game to date.
