Line Rider is a simplistic game about a kid named 'Bosh' on a sled who rides on lines in which you draw. Line Rider offers only one challenge: to keep Bosh on the sled. The game offers many tools such as the pencil tool and straight line tool, to allow you to make the track of your dreams!
It all starts with a kid on a sled in an infinite void
Line Rider as a game doesn't have much to offer on its own. A few minutes of toying around with lines, drawing squiggles, bumps, jumps and loops is all most people do in their time playing the game. This is understandable, given that the only thing they have to work with as they enter the game is a line tool with 3 coloured lines and the singular, minimalist character, Bosh. Quite underwhelming, even for a sandbox game. However, just like all sandbox games, these tools have infinite depth and for years, Line Rider has been used in a breathtakingly wide variety of ways, ranging from making silly videos to works of art that are truly life-changing.
Much of this is possible through one thing. Green lines. Green lines, much like paint, can be used to create digital landscapes that are beautiful and compelling. Not only can lines be used to create images and words, but the lines can also become a language itself, forming a niche world of creativity that creators have poured their souls into. Lines come together to carve out stories that catalyse self-discovery, and healing, and elicit the deepest emotions.
Line Rider also has an intimate connection with the world of music. Music syncing tools in the application let you play a song as Bosh rides and this has allowed a whole conversation to be opened up between the lines you place and the music that is played. This feature, combined with the aesthetics of lines and the central focus of a singular character is what makes Line Rider a unique and interesting art medium.
Line Rider doesn't tell a story or have a goal or anything really. The aim is up to you. Every line you place is a step you take; Line Rider is a journey about you and that's the most powerful thing about it.

In line rider you draw a line, or other things. Then you press start and watch the rider go down your drawn track. The actual rider doesnt do anything but to obey the simple physics engine of the game, so obviously the tracks you draw must go downward or they are very boring.
There is really no objective to the game except to try to have fun. Its more like a tool than an actual game in that sense. Still, some of the creation it originated are completly amazing. Specially since the physics engine is really buggy at times, and the option to delete drawn lines is absent.
I had my fun with it, but ultimatly moved on after finding out how limited you are in building your tracks. The sequel is a bit more complete than this one, and because of that much better.
