Title
It's a colorful, creatively designed, and very streamlined moba entry. All of the character designs are interesting, and far separated enough from WC3's DotA Allstars, which led to its creation. DotA Allstars was already a black sheep enough in WC3's custom game community. It was "DotA for casuals". LoL and Allstars are not casual games. They have more focused designs and have whittled out the excessive bits of tedium that made DotA Renewal and Heroes of Newerth unfun. It has a low skill floor, and a high skill ceiling; a new player could understand it easily, and with enough time and dedication could reach heights that others won't. It's very team oriented, and a generally unpleasant experience for solo players. Recommended to people who already have a group of friends who play the game.

The game won't reward you for mastering it, get good and get bombed by weird players on your team.

The community of this game is so horrible that riot itself (the company that created it) is afraid to add Voice Chat, That's it, we have a game from 2009 that has lasted until today without voice chat because the company doesn't trust the players themselves.

Matchmaking is based on keeping you addicted to the game, you will always get pulled to 50% total wins, the game will sabotage you with quitters, bad players, or else will promote you with divine players (and degenerate players on the other side).

I would recommend that you play with a Duo or with friends, but I would actually recommend that you stay away from this game.

This was the only game company in the world that managed to do the impossible, they managed to UNBAN scripters and Hackers

Consider the competitive community of this game dead, You will not be rewarded for your skill on ranked, if you play as a God, the system will treat you as if you were nobody. no extra points, just lose the same amount of points as 0/9 Garen

there are dozens of other abysmal problems that I can't measure in my head

Classic competitive multiplayer madness
A genre defining, hyper competitive game which keeps on changing over and over during the years.
After 10 years of playing this rage-inducing machine I can truly say that both most of my best and worst gaming memories come from this game.
With the biggest variety of gameplay, biggest assortment of champions to choose from and one of the steepest learning curve among any competitive game, LoL is just one of a kind.
All of this while being absolutely free to play and with no microtransaction at all, unless you want to get some of the best cosmetics in any videogame ever.
It's just a classic game, still loyal to its humble Warcraft-based fantasy origins, with an interesting universe and infinite replayability.

    This may have been fun and good years ago. But today its just not fun at all. Every game plays out the exact same as the previous one and 1 match just goes on waaaayyy too long. Does this match suck? Bad luck, you locked in here for 45 minutes now.

    probably one of the most maliciously designed games ever, the addiction it creates for some people is on a level of self destruction parallel to hard drugs, ruined one of my friends lives by creating a codependency with drugs that made him do nothing all day to the point where he got kicked out and is now homeless

      no other competitive pvp game even comes close to the sickness and self-destruction this game exhibits and evokes, Riot is to blame and this game should be studied for managing to create a digital drug even worse than WoW.

      on top of all that, it's a bad moba with absolutely zero coherent design direction, all aspects of strategy and tradeoffs were thrown out the window years ago and its simply a crumbling mess of patched systems on top of systems

      as a "digital drug", valorant isn't nearly as bad but it's definitely a close second, league getting the upper hand mostly due to the fact you can at least use vc in val to slightly avoid the isolationism bit... but even then the game is just as toxic to the point where you might as well mute everybody, and I'd argue the vc bit actually makes it worse, since it makes it 200x more toxic.

      i like the solo/duo aspect of league bc if im gonna play at all its usually with a friend, and it's a pretty laid back way to hangout together since neither of us take it too seriously. And if I'm gonna play something by myself, it's like the only game that I can play and blast music and still be able to focus, which is maybe like 80% of the reason why i play it at all. the game itself is dogshit tho obviously, but it's a decent time passer for when new music comes out for me lol

      I think you helped me understand a large aspect of just how common it is for people to binge on drugs while playing this game; it is incredibly easy to shut your brain off and autopilot it, and taking even depressants wouldn't really hinder you too much
