    Totally agreed. It may be a bit barebones when you analyze each of its elements separately, but its whole is absolutely charming and pleasant. The music, the simple gameplay, and the visuals really come together to create something remarkable in spite of its customary gameplay.

    I really enjoyed it other than finding the jumping floaty and the way it locks into a direction when shooting weird. Great overall though

    Nothing quite like Pixel's music. Instantly recognizable, pulls you right in. Best enjoyed when thinking of Cave Story and the time you downloaded it because some anonymous figure put it up as a newly discovered instant classic. It was free, you gave it a shot, core memory formed.

    Also, genuinely shocked Cat never became a pfp staple.
