Two career criminals, Kane—a misanthropic ex-mercenary—and Lynch—his psychopathic former partner—fight to escape the gritty underworld of Shanghai after a job goes wrong.
to be fair i wouldn't want to QA test this game for bugs either

So essentially this game is a generic 3rd person liniar shooter with god awful cover mechanics, predictable AI, boring uninteresting “gritty” story that wants a pass because it calls itself "ugly" so suddenly it's ok that the whole game is just you killing Chinese people over and over and over again and totally different from every other game in which you do stuff like that.
Almost no variation in where the missions take place and also 80% of the missions look and feel identical to each other. Unlikeable characters that aren't even interesting to watch and a really brief run time of about 4 hours in which all you do is just shoot people, NOTHING ELSE.
It also feels like a very unambitious and pointless game that doesn't strive to do anything different with it's gameplay and the whole gameplay loop is just go to cover, peak out to shoot enemy...go to the next cover and repeat and it's gunplay feels very mediocre, half the time it sounds like you're using toy guns and there isn't much impact or much variation in the guns and even then all but 2 guns are worthless most of the time (shotgun and pistol).
Also for some reason shotguns are better than assault rifles at long range so there isn't really a reason to use any other weapons, it boils down to using your shotgun then using the other weapons when you run out till you find another shotgun or ammo for your shotgun.
It’s a shallow game with nothing to offer in terms of an interesting narrative, or interesting/fun gameplay loop (cover shooting shouldn’t be the ONLY thing you do in a game, even the cliche and boring helicopter sequence is essentially just popping out of cover and shooting enemies before going back in cover and repeating that), or anything. This game offers NOTHING, it’s just a soulless and bland game made because the first game sold enough to warrant a sequel and there’s NO innovation or anything to make it stand out…
Oh right my bad they made the camera shake really hard and put in some filters that made me think I needed to clean my glasses at first, it’s headache inducing for the first 2 hours before it loses its effect then you just become numb, you zone out during the shootouts and try not to fall asleep during the cutscenes.
Kane And Lynch 2: Dog Days is lazy, its a 3rd person liniar shooter because that’s what was trendy with a visual gimmick that is supposed to sell you on the game alone because otherwise this game is not worth fucking shit.
Take that shit away and it’s a worthless unlikeable shitfest of meaningless violence with no ambition or point to make, the characters never grow, they are the same at the start and end with nothing learned which makes them completely uninteresting to watch since you know they won’t really grow or become better/worse people, they’re pretty much fucking evil with how many people they kill in this game and it’s all supposed to be okay because the devs said it’s an “ugly” game. I mean christ the last mission only seems to exist to pad out the pathetic game length (me getting the game for less than 1$ doesn’t excuse it being a 4 hour long game that costed 60$ at launch)
This game is no different from Medal Of Honor 2010/Warfighter or any other meaningless shooter in which you just shoot foreigners, if this shit can get revived and seen as some unique misunderstood piece of art then get ready for when we will all start praising Fallout 76 because not putting in human NPC’s is actually a novel concept that worked out a lot better than people say it did and wasn’t just them going "guys look at all this work we didn’t put in"
I don’t get this game, I’m with the critics that hated it back when it came out and nothing will prb make me switch sides. If you like it, good for you, but personally I feel like a lot of the praise the game gets doesn’t reflect the actual game when you sit down and play it yourself. It’s not fun, it’s numbing, I didn’t enjoy a second of this game no matter how much I tried, fucking hell at least Medal Of Honor 2010 had one ok mission that was sorta memorable, this couldn’t even achieve that, the infamous mission in which you’re naked in the streets isn’t that much different from the other missions if you really think about it, yeah you’re still just going from cover to cover and shooting people so there isn’t much to make it memorable outside of it sounding really funny on paper.
In other words, 1/10, fucking abomination of a game and the worst game I’ve ever played, Ride To Hell at least was funny in how bad it was.

Kane and Lynch haven’t seen each other since the events of the first game “Dead Men”. They reunite in Shanghai to complete an arms deal. Kane seems to want to give up his criminal life and attempt to repair his relationship with his daughter, so he sees this as his final job. Instead of going straight to the hotel, Lynch says he has a job to do first. However, they seem to have their bad luck from the first game, and end up being pursued by the most powerful man in Shanghai.
You are basically anti-heroes since you are playing as criminals, and have to shoot many cops and rival gang members. There’s plenty of violence and swearing like a typical gangster-style film. Lynch is the focus of this sequel, but he is much less chaotic here.
The game plays like a third-person cover-based shooter. The enemies still feel quite bullet-spongey, as does Lynch. They have removed the random accuracy that was annoying in the first game, so now the accuracy is much improved but differs based on the type of gun.
There is now a dedicated button to snap to/away from cover so the cover system seems more reliable. Most cover can be destroyed. There’s a dedicated button for reload (In the first game, I think you could just press the A button, but that also picked up weapons. I did see some reviews claim you couldn’t reload at all). You can no longer use grenades, but you can throw fire extinguishers as a makeshift explosive, or blow canisters in the environment. Just like the first game, you will be constantly switching weapons in order to have enough ammunition.
The revive mechanic has been replaced too. In the first game, if your team members fell, then you had to revive them. The AI would never revive others apart from you. You revived each other by injecting with adrenaline which basically had a cooldown. In this game, I wasn’t sure how the mechanic worked. You could often just tap a button to get up and hide behind the nearest cover, but other times you were killed. Kane also revives himself.
Squad commands are gone, but I never had a problem with Kane’s behaviour to make me want to use such a feature. He was a big help in fights, and moved correctly to the next objective. Since they removed the commands and you don’t have to revive Kane, many times I only concentrated on what I was doing, so I do miss the team aspect that was in the first game.
The first game had a few bugs, and there are a few here. You seem to have to play offline due to the crash in the main menu (is it trying to contact a non-existent server?). There was one cutscene that seemed to play extremely slowly, but a reload seemed to fix it.
The game’s difficulty seemed much more consistent, rather than the massive difficulty spike towards the end of the first game.
The graphics are much improved, particularly with the textures. Environments have a lot of detail too, with a vast amount of objects in the scene. Often I found myself stopping to admire the scene. There’s a mix of environments throughout the game, although you are always in Shanghai, including: market, sweatshop, shopping center, streets, office building, and airport.
There seems to be a stylistic choice as if they are being filmed, with a shaky cam following them around. The shaking can be disabled in the menus, but you can’t do anything about the cutscenes. Other effects can be disabled via the config launcher. I don’t think it makes sense to have a camera-man following them story-wise; the camera man would be dead within minutes. Still, it’s an interesting aesthetic to see pixelated censoring for any nudity or for characters when they die from a head-shot.
The game fixes a lot of problems with the first game, but then it loses some aspects of what made it unique. Lynch’s crazy mental state made for some humorous scenarios in the first game, but his subdued personality here removes a lot of character. Kane and Lynch still have a lot of bad luck which puts them in constant peril.
They travelled to several countries in the first game, but here you are stuck in Shanghai. It’s a nice environment but you don’t get as much variety. In the first game, the revival mechanic got quite annoying by the end, but at least it was a distinctive element.
Dog Days is a better game mechanically. However, the character development isn’t as good and it is still a short game.

mission 1 , 10 seconds in: camera makes me want to puke i'm feeling nausea's mission 2: can actually turn the camera off this might be OK wait what the fuck all the guns feel like SHIT. after dying 10 times in a row to a fucking car running us over / one hitting us with pea shooters but we can empty clips into them? 3 missions later. The only way to progress is wack a mole?
"A MOVIE". what the fuck? what a useless fucking gimmick. the screen randomly goes black like it looks like the game is half BROKEN tedious. the disappointment in this game. WHY is it so bad. It's like they were like "WHAT DO YOU MEAN its 4 hours long?" -- "Ship it" halfway through we had to put it on EASY and speedrun the rest of the game i couldn't take it anymore - Bad PHYSICS, GAMEPLAY, ANIMATIONS, MECHANICS, LEVEL DESIGN,
3.5/10

Honestly met my expectations of the game right on point. its a simple game designed for a dumb coop experience. All it offers is waves of enemies and very simplistic combat through waist high covers. I didnt expect that the weapons were so weak however, especially when it comes to accuracy. Graphically it is impressive, but apart from that it is mediocre in everysingle other aspect. Even if it is only 4 hours long, it does start to get very repetitive towards the end.
The story is terrible, as its really hard to root for protagonists as disgusting as Kane and Lynch.
Play only if you are desperate for third person shooting action.

its a pretty fascinating game for how committed to the bit it is. cuts much deeper than the ilk of that time period for expressing its ethos in full. never straying in tone.
Seriously fail to see the supposed hidden genius in this game, the disorienting style is neat but not particularly interesting. I'm kind of just tired of postmodernist kuso (ala Drakengard) where the entire point is that actually "the game is bad on purpose", it seems like thats all postmodernism in video games can do nowadays, that or being obnoxiously meta.
