Being an F1 game, F1 Pole Position 64 is inherently boring, but I'll admit it can feel decent when you get into a rhythm of shifting up and down through corners. Presentation is below par for a game of Japanese origin and there's an unrefined rigidity to it all. For example, bumpier tracks nauseatingly jolt the cockpit camera at angles, and wall and car collisions are poor; cars have big, spongy hitboxes and squish together like dough before rebounding off of each other. The amount of pop-in is distracting and the visuals are actually better when they're glazed with N64 fog as happens on occasion when the dynamic weather rolls it in.
