there were so many flagged comments idk where to start, but basically JK Rowling is transphobic and therefore there was a large online boycott for this game. So that attracted transphobes who think they're pushing some sort of agenda by supporting the game, angry netizens guilt tripping others for playing the game, and then not-as-online netizens who just grew up with Harry Potter and dreamed of playing a big Hogwarts simulator as a kid and are upset nobody is actually talking about the game.
so that attracted a lot of comments that deserved to be deleted for either transphobia or a complete lack of civility, and a lot of reasonable comments flagged just because people are angry they don't agree with them.
also a lot of comments were simply deleted for being "off topic"

Mods cannot delete comments, only admin's can.
The flag functionally currently does not notify anyone, all it does is shut down the comment string. Only reason comments are actually getting deleted here is they have had to babysit this for about a year now...
the reason it was nominated for steam goty probably was because it runs well on the Steam Deck for an AAA open world game. It's been one of the most popular games on the SD ever since it came out. And I've been actually giving it a shot on the SD myself and I get it, it's a consistent 30 FPS experience that looks nice and it's a shallow but fun enough game.
kinda sad this cookie cutter ass game had so much excitement around it just cuz the author behind the series hates trans people so much she engages in holocaust denial... oh... hm..
