Harvest Moon DS

Apparently, this specific entry in the series is infamously glitchy. Didn't know that before I got my used copy of it from gamestop. I've had a lot of fantastically bizzare experiences playing it really late at night: NPCs going off of their predetermined paths, game randomly crashing at coincidentally strange moments...
Really, even playing the game regularly, there's a really strange atmosphere to it. The graphical style, being copied over from the GBA games, is all too washed out for the fully capable backlit screen of the DS. And maybe it's something about the music, or the gameplay loop itself, but there's a dissociative trance to it that is only amplified by the hypnagogic state you get in from playing it so late. The overall atmosphere just feels like a dream to me; everything from the sometimes odd japanese-to-english translated dialogue to the monotonous gameplay loop.

Oh yeah, and it's also perfectly enjoyable as a normal Harvest Moon game, too. The glitches don't really get in the way unless you wanna 100% the game, and overall
