This is what put Sega on the map as the cool, hip, adolescent, alternative gaming company with a penchant for racing games and energetic, strokeful visuals. It is quite limited as a game and the only challenges you face are drifting and avoiding other cyclists while the backdrop changes by swaping scenery and doesn't have a lot more to offer. A regular perfect game lasts 5 minutes, but the visuals are delicious and I imagine the feeling of playing in the simulated arcade cabinet must be fantastic. Arcade: (3.5)
On MAME, the analog controls are very sensitive, so I recommend you steer with the mouse, and assign the X/Z keys on the keyboard as accel/deccel.
I also played the SG-1000 version, and it's playable, but the turning grip is totally whacked. When you accelerate to top speeds, your bike just skiddles way too easily and becomes so unstable. (1.5)
The Master System port, a launch title, fixes this immense control loss, and is a measured and wonderful port in every respect. And it's just a great tech demo for the console to boot. (3.0)
