God I hated this game. Like, actually hated it. It was the type of game that you would play only begrudgingly because all of the other machines were taken. And after the first ten seconds you were reminded of why the thing sat there all day virtually untouched. It was shit, but you know, gotta play something.

Gorf tried to present itself as giving you everything you could want in a game - a kind of "greatest hits" - but it was executed diabolically poorly. Firstly, it rips off Space Invaders, but the graphics are far worse. The movements are incredibly stiff and it presents no challenge at all. The game also rips off Galaxian with an equally shitty presentation. Surrounding this plagiarism are some awfully weak games, one of which is a half arsed poor man's Tempest in sheep's clothing.

All the way through you are constantly aware that this is a dated low budget hackfest. And the sounds are ear splittingly bad. This was the same year that Galaga was ushered into our lives. Gorf looked like yesterday's news, played atrociously and was never worth the 20¢ investment. May it rot in silicone hell.
