Good free to play third person shooter, however teh matchmaking is not skill based and is unfair. A good game for experienced games but not for casual players sadly, despite Epic attempt to be broadly appealing. Also the ingame purchases are overly expensive.

I have no idea what this global fixation on a game with no leveling system, no weapon upgrade system, no soundtrack, average visuals for its time, and one map is, but it is fucking idiotic. This game is a blisteringly unfinished, demo-quality release. In that capacity it's not that bad, but as a full-fledged game that stands alongside other massive online games, it's a joke. It is one of the most overly simplistic, broken games ever, that is entirely reliant on button spamming and luck to be good at. If you just set up hotkeys on a computer, wear headphones, and land in the right place to get competent weapons, you can be great at this game on your first playthough. It is so forgettable that I truly do not know how it is as huge as it is. I understand that niche, artsier games aren't going to be for everyone, but how this game dwarfs the popularity of Rocket League for example stuns me. You can't play with as many people online sure, but the gameplay experience is just leagues better and it still retains that addictive quality of a good online game.

I'll give this game props for that it is a decent play with friends, it has a good sense of humor, the fundamental gameplay aspects are pretty sound, and the visuals are good (not great, but good). But I really can't even call it an average game given how monotonous and just...unfinished...it is.

I can't take this game seriously. If I were a music critic, this game is the "Epic rap battles of history" of gaming. You see, when I watch someone do something beautiful, like Bob Ross painting the wilderness, it's relaxing, inspiring, and emotionally relatable. But when I watch someone build a 5 story building in 6 seconds so that they can trigger their next dopamine impulse by eliminating an opponent and grabbing their purple or their orange loot, I lose a little bit of faith in all of humanity.

I like it. :)
I play this regularly with my sister. Super fun to play casually. It can be frustrating to die, but getting back in immediately pretty much minimizes that issue. Also since they added no build filthy plebs like me were able to actually enjoy it! No longer is fortnite the weird free one in battle royale, but just the best. And you play as pretty much anyone you'd like! Really enjoying my Raiden skin.

    i remember booting up this game when C1S5 dropped on a weekend staying at my dad's when i was like 12. time has gone by so fast man. it's obviously flawed and a bit of a corporate ip circlejerk but god it's so fun, i became a better person when i stopped pretending the game was cringe and picked it back up.
