Five Nights at Freddy's 2

Much like the first game, this is only fun when played with a bunch of friends given how it was made as a party starter rather than for a solo playthrough. Also, like the first game, the lore is what kept it alive over the years given how much more interesting the backstory to these robots are than the game itself is.

The only real difference here aside from the increase in how many animatronics there are would be the lack of doors to send them away, instead you have to trick them into thinking you're one of them by putting on a mask whenever they enter the corridor you're in. To give some variety to the gameplay, there are two mechanics implemented that are necessary to ward off the two robots that won't be fooled by your disguise, the first being my boy foxy who can only be scared off by flashing a light at him and the second is a puppet who needs to be consistently wound up to avoid escaping from its own jack in the box. I will say that the jump scares are a mixed bag in this game, those who lunge at you being very frightening (particularly toy Chika who looks like a demonic barbie doll while she hunts for you) whereas those who simply pop out in front of you are more comical than frightening (toy Freddy being the worst here.) Also, I'm mixed on balloon boy as on the one hand he brings needed fear from foxy by disabling your light source, on the other hand he's a little shit that gets real annoying real fast. Toy foxy is a bit underutilised as they come complete with creepy radio waves whenever they're in room that does a lot to add to the tension of the game, it's just a shame it's only there to signal its presence and that it hardly ever sticks around for too long.

I could go on more about the game’s lore, but this is a review of the gameplay which admittedly there isn't much of. It's a ton of fun to theorise about as well as play with friends, but a complete bore when by yourself.

This game is just the first but harder and scarier. More animatronics, more mechanics, and more jumpscares. This is what people wanted and it's great as it stays true to the first but simply improves. It didn't need to do too much different and it doesn't, and in my opinion, this is better in every way.

Not nearly as terrifying as #1, but way more fun and skill-based.

A big improvement over the first game. It has less atmosphere than the first game but it's way more fun with all of the new characters that are introduced, not to mention the new minigames and easter eggs make this a great experience

Fnaf 1 is scarier but this one is more fun (this game is still quite spooky though) I like the music box and Foxy as anti - cheese more than the power gauge. The idea of having to wind a music box to keep some mysterious animatronic at bay is just a lot scarier than the loose threat of running out of power. The looming threat of Foxy grabbing your ass whenever you put on the mask is freaky too (in more ways than one)! This game loses its punch way quicker just simply because of the density of it, in fnaf one outside of night 6 and custom night the four animatronics; while they are a threat, two of those four are pretty specialised (Foxy and Freddy having well established countdowns until you need to deal with them) as such you aren’t always in danger so it makes it much scarier when you are, compared to fnaf 2 where there are 10 robos tryna getcha, it makes the game a lot less tense.

Okay so in theory this game is an improvement on all fronts from FNAF 1 right? More enemies, more things to manage etc etc, but no this game may add MORE but the amount of shit here that is countered with extreme ease means you can literally play though the entire game doing the same 5 things on loop over and over again with 0 risk of losing and that alone just makes this game really boring.
