Reel Fishing was a game I have fond memories playing as a kid, even if looking back the game has aged terribly. Its one of those games that just gets so repetitive and annoying after the first few minutes. You go to different lakes and ponds and you get to choose which pole, bait, and hooks to use to catch different fish. Each lake has its own unique fish, I believe you start with a trout and work your way up to salmon. The game is basically casting your pole, waiting for the fish to bite, playing tug of war to reel the fish in, rinse and repeat. There are only 7 stages, and you can choose to release the fish or keep them in an aquarium. I mean I give credit where credit is due, and this was one of the first true fishing simulators, but it just is so bare bones and bland, it feels like a mini game you'd find in a bigger game. There weren't enough variety of fish, the game just was so repetitive and I feel like catching fish was sometimes annoying and it was annoying trying to catch big fish sometimes when they would never bite. I mean as a kid I loved this game because I used to love fishing in real life with my dad and this game did have some cool designs for the fish, but looking back its pretty bland. There are probably a million better fishing simulators now, the only thing I can say is good about this is the music, but thats really it.
