Fatal Frame III: The Tormented

Fatal Frame 3 is good, despite what people might say. There are a number of people who will claim this is a big downgrade from 2, but for me it was almost as good, if not better in some aspects. I like the aspect that you entered the horror World when you would sleep and as time went along more weird things would occur in the real World. On top of that there were some really horrifying moments in this and the design of some of the levels in this made the game really tense, even if some areas were reused from the 1st game. On the other hand I can see the criticism, the game does drag out a little, the design isn't as good as 2, and the story is kind of weak. But its still a pretty solid horror game and I do think its slightly better than the 1st game.

I think this might be my favorite Fatal Frame. The story is great and I'd say this is the one entry where the storytelling is at it's peak. The gameplay goes back to FF1 while containing the upgrades made in FF2, exactly how a 3rd entry should be in any franchise. It still felt kinda long like all the others though. But I sill loved it.

Actually, now that I think about it. This reminded me a lot of Silent Hill 4: The Room with all that dream stuff and the mystery plot that gets unveiled little by little.

i like the story, i like the visuals. the setpieces are gorgeous. like others have said, it really does remind me a lot of Silent Hill 4: The Room. regardless, the game itself sucks.

its an artificially long game. incredible amounts of backtracking, enemies that intentionally hide for absurd lengths of time, and later in the game, a mechanic that forces the player to look for special items to temporarily dispel a permanent chaser enemy for the rest of the game
