It's fun to just wander and explore, stumbling into different situations but man the story is so fucking boring and the RPG mechanics are sorely lacking. Still, i have a lot of fun with this every time i decide to boot it up.
I enjoyed this at least as much as I did with New Vegas. The Opening when you first leave Vault 101 gave me goosebumps. And the way that you could immediately go anywhere you want, unlike New Vegas where the devs clearly intended the Primm, Novac route, is so fun. This rating is an atrocity
its obviously worse than FNV but i never liked the idea of just skipping it when it has some really genuinely great parts like point lookout and the initial exploration of the wasteland. i recommend newcomers to install TTW (since nobody makes mods for the original anymore) and at least try it out
it's not perfect by any means, but this game really is unfairly criticised... A LOT. there's so much in the game to like about it. the main questline isn't great, but that's just one teensy part of f3. and people forget that transquility lane is part of the main quest, which is actually one of the best parts of the game. some of the writing is actually really good, and the aesthetic/"feel" of the game is incredibly strong. at least for me anyway.
I remember this being my favorite game of all time when it came out; I did enjoy the main story although the exploration and wealth of side-stories were superior. I don't think this should ever be thought of as a mediocre or overrated game. Yes NV is a masterpiece but that doesn't mean this game is bad.
