I find that, despite what you might expect, this game sorely lacks replay value. This is because there are too few base resources, the tech tree is too linear, energy production is not very nuanced, and the terrain does not appreciably impact the way you play. I'd rather see nothing in particular be mandatory (or even always accessible) but lots of optional paths to take. The uranium / nuclear power stuff is a good step in the right direction. I know this game is still being expanded upon so let's hope for more like that.

i didnt get it until about an hour in, i felt like i was constantly getting distracted by new things, new upgrades, new improvements i could make to my factory, and then before you knew it four more hours had passed by and i didnt even feel done in the slightest. its actually fucked, im scared to go back to it because i know i will never get sleep again if it sucks me back in. maybe its a bit too good at what it does.
also i initially didnt like the whole tower defense aspect of the game until i realized how much it pushed me to stay on my toes, its a really interesting way to incentivize the player to work harder and harder towards building the factory so that you can build the defense required to hold off against aliens, and then inevitably, wipe them out yourself. its actually cool as shit.
also, even though from a distance everything about how the game works is obtuse and complex as shit, its weirdly accessible once you put your roots down and start working piece by piece (though i have to admit my autistic ass brain often has to stop and think deeply about what to even DO next)
brilliant game with plenty of depth and cohesive mechanics. Definitely do not buy it for Nintendo Switch. UI doesn't jibe on console. Just retrieving resources, selecting the tree right in front of you to harvest, or entering the crafting menu are arduous and since the game continues running in real time it's frustrating that it takes forever to perform what should be simple tasks. This is a PC game through and through.
