effects are real fun, combat is meaty and packs a punch, all the stuff that made fear 1 is great is here, its just a bit less special.

FEAR not
FEAR 2 is not a good sequel, but its a good game. Its not a good sequel because it doesnt develop the first in any significant way, actually it takes a couple of stepbacks when it comes to its weapons. The shotguns arent nearly as satisfying, and the way that the slow down time mechanic work has changed. The enemy AI also feels a lot more simple and dumb this time around.

Visually it is a slight improvement over the first in terms of textures, but the game isnt nearly as dark, and it loses something because of that in the intensity of the fights. Love the blood and gore on this one, even if the weapons dont allow for such displays of carnage like on the first.

THings it improved on was making Alma a more believable threat, unfortunatly through the use of QTEs. Storywise i felt that the game did a better job than the first in explaining what happened and it had a more satisfactory ending.

Its not a suberb game, but its definitly a solid shooter with a heavy atmosphere. Its good entertainment to go through it once, and again on a higher difficulty if you like the challenge.

    I dont remember enough about this game to rate it, except that it was nowhere near as good as the first. But I DO remember that part in the school where it goes dark and you cant use your flashlight and those ghost things are attacking you. The reason i remember it is because it's the only time a video game triggered a (severe) migraine and I fucking hated it for that.

    This is VERY close to the first game. The level design, weapon and grenade variety, enemies. It's all pretty close in quality and design. The only downside, and a major one at that, was the downgrade from audio voicemails to written intel. I ain't reading all of that.
