The stages in this game are unbelievably bland. Often just completely flat platforms with the same enemy spawning indefinitely off one side of the screen. It's short and repetitive and shallow; basically, not a great game in any conventional sense.
But there's an undeniable satisfaction to evolving your creature into all these different forms. The biggest problem is that each evolutionary stage has a de-facto "best" evolution. I would have liked there to be more flexibility, but since it's just an additive system, there's almost always a "best" jaw, a "best" body, a "best" tail, etc. It is an idea worth exploring more and I don't know any game that tried to do it in the same way.

lol koichi sugiyama was only really involved with 46 Okunen Monogatari: The Shinka Ron[46億年物語 -THE 進化論-] and he's credited here for the remastered tracks they used, the rest of the ost is filler by some other guy that's noticeably worse! it is a shame that it makes stages after the 1st feel much more repetitive
