The soundtrack is weird and wonky, but it still works, and such was the price to pay for such a groovy new concept. They did it pretty much completely right, moving away from the vague realism of GH but keeping the feeling of attachment to the music, making the gameplay kind of similar but still making it unique, and bringing in all the proper big names to give it the credence needed. Weird progression system and tacked-on guitar mode are the only real blights, though the second would arguably have the better soundtrack.
