Playing the game from 2002 in year 2019 could be risky. The games really changed through that time, but I can tell that in the case of Divine Divinity playing it wasn't an entirely unpleasant experience, although in moments I was getting really irritated.
The game looks pretty good, considering how old it is. Of course the visuals aren't mind-blowing, but they were nice enough and they are rather varied. Interface could cause some trouble for people who are used to newer games, but it is rather easy to get hang of it.
Gameplay is quite typical for hack'n'slash game. You are slaughtering hordes of monsters, you are leveling up by killing them and get skills to slaughter even more enemies,. Fortunately there are also quests which can be solved in a different way (well, at least with a little less fighting). It's fun, but only for some time, after that it becomes boring and repetitive.
That's my main problem with this game. For what it is offering it is too long and too monotone. Really, when you are killing your hundredth orc you don't feel satisfaction anymore, but growing annoyance., Beside that, although this game generally runs well on Windows 10 it sometimes crashes, also there are some bugs, for example the items not always spawn in the moment they should.
On the other hand I like the light tone of the game. The story is nothing special, but, because Divine Divinity doesn't take itself too seriously it kept me interested. The other thing I like is the freedom in developing character skills. The choice of the class matter, but not too much (and it's good because Survivor is really handicapped in comparison to others).
Generally it is OK game with some nice ideas, but it is a little too long and repetitive. But it's fun in not too big doses.

Some parts of this game are painfully boring and repetitive. If only it was shorter it would probably be a favourite of mine. If you run into any performance issues, crashes or anything fishy run it in software mode in the config file, this fixed everything for me.
