I've no idea what "Crimzon Clover: World Ignition" is supposed to mean, but it is a vertical bullet-hell game. There are 3 ships to choose from, with an additional one to unlock.
There are 2 difficulty modes; Novice and Arcade. Then there are sub modes of Boost (adaptive difficulty), Unlimited, and Time Attack (which is an exclusive level and you are trying to get the most points).
The ship is large but has a small hit-box. You only die if you take one hit to the centre of your ship. You constantly hold fire to unleash a barrage of bullets which covers a surprisingly large width. One of the ships has a randomly extending width too for even more coverage. You have a lock-on move to destroy multiple targets within your radius. You fill up the break gauge which can be used for screen clearing bomb, or you can fill it up completely and unleash Break Mode which has some insane rapid fire and temporary invincibility. This can be powered up to unleash Double Break mode for more carnage.
The focus is really on dodging enemy fire to survive. On Novice, the screen is often completely rammed, but yet the majority of the time, you can (somehow) see what is going on. The Arcade mode is even more mental. You have unlimited continues but your score resets when you use one; so the last part of the game is the most important.
When you defeat enemies, it clears their on-screen projectiles which I liked. Maybe it doesn't make sense but it is very rewarding to defeat an enemy and clear the screen.
The game is really fun and it is very satisfying to constantly tear down waves of enemies.

Among the shmup community this game is held up as like the Platonic form of the genre, but I just haven't been able to get into it. The visuals are too busy, even for a bullet hell, and the constant hold-release-hold-release of the lock-on missile mechanic gets physically uncomfortable after very little time. I love shmups and bullet hells in particular but this one never got under my skin.
