Title
Music is absolutely ear grating, it takes me completely out of the game, I can't read the damn dialogue with generic pop vocals blaring in my ears. There's no option to turn it off either. God, why didn't they go with a chiptune or vaporwave soundtrack? It's not really a pokemon type game, don't go into this thinking it is, you transform into the monsters, you don't raise them, you're not bonding with creatures, you're filling up your omnitrix. It's not the same thing and it's not for me. I think the art style is great, well aside from the brutally soulless "tumblr" style character portraits that really ruin the imagination that comes with pixel art. Seriously, why does every western indie game look like this now?

Still waiting on a quality Pokemon style game, this aint it chief.

Bought this for myself and a friend, at least they enjoy it.

    the difficulty scaling was working fine for about 80% of the game and then it just seemed to completely unravel and i found myself in encounters with monsters i literally one shot at the start of the battle standing next to monsters that take 7-8 turns to kill.

    in theory this is a solution for outpacing content in an open world pokemon, but in practice it needs more refinement. and while they provide the knobs for you tweak in menus, it isn't as granular as one would expect and ultimately feels like design oversight.

    None of these designs stand out to me, they don’t feel like mons I can get attached to, they feel like generic dungeon monsters. Not saying this is void of charm but the issue with these games that try so hard to be like Pokemon is that they never flesh out the designs enough or create inspired enough ones for me to be attached to them
