Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Underrated game, this was Modern Warfare done right. They ironed out some troubles but overall this was a good time and had some scorestreaks. Sometimes PC players would cheat and ruin the game later in its life.

The corruption was just starting to turn once this game's life was near over--but most serious COD players regard this one as a near-classic modern COD title.

Good/great gun feel and shooting weight. Great sandbox maps. Overall an oustanding game in the history of COD.

i really like this one

The game that brought back my excitement to play call-of-duty. Excellent gunplay, visuals and campaign for a top tier gameplay moments. Multiplayer is a mixed bag though, it suffers from certain design flaws in balancing, map design, and terrible development philosophy of dropping features (example: night vision mechanics), limiting content for its multiplayer, and most importantly not fulfilling this game's very large potential.

Modern Warfare was definitely a step forward into the right direction for the OG fanbase, but for obvious reasons, it was flawed. Very flawed.

Let's start with the good:

Incredible New Engine
The engine itself felt pristine. Incredible graphics, amazing attention-to-detail on the firearms in the game and environmentally. By far the best engine in a COD game to date.

Awesome Campaign
The rework of Captain Price I actually prefer over the old Captain Price (no hate towards Bill Murray). A more deeper, more quiet, serious tone. For a man who has always known to be a badass, it fits him incredibly well. The Campaign also brings back the disturbing, gory gameplay of previous COD titles. Basically they didn't care about pushing the boundaries in this game.

Implementation of Warzone
Take this however you want, but Warzone absolutely saved this game. Multiplayer was struggling to satisfy the fanbase for reasons I'll mention afterwards. Not huge on BR games but sniping on Warzone is satisfying as hell and I feel Warzone is the most accurate in terms of bullet drop and physics. It can be repetitive and the metas somewhat killed half the fanbase, but before, it was great.

Now onto the bad side of Modern Warfare:

IW Promoted Camping
For whatever reason, they thought a play style similar to Rainbow Six: Siege would help with the player count of Modern Warfare. Wrong. It ruined the game for a ton of players who were more aggro than passive, forcing a lot of the players to play like you're afraid to move in a video game.

Skill-Based Matchmaking
By far the worst of the three flaws. HIGHLY strict matchmaking system forces everyone to play like you're competing for $1,000,000. Nothing casual about this system and is literal work playing this game.

Poor Map Design
I may sound like the typical COD player shitting on newer maps, but believe me, that's not the case. They were just designed to play like a newcomer. I know that's what they wanted and to encourage the younger fanbase but it doesn't play well in a COD game. They had to remake fan-favorite maps, which overall did help with the fun but lacked with originality.

Overall I feel as if without the bads I have listed, it could've been up there with the greatest CODs of all time.

This game wouldn’t be bad if the spawn points weren’t so fucked up all the time, you constantly just get shot in the back a split second after spawning. The gunplay is mostly balanced besides a few obnoxious outliers and the depth of the weapon customization is a fresh new spin on the COD formula. The operator field upgrades are stupid, the killstreaks are dogshit (and for some reason there’s just a driveable tank killstreak), and the loads of micro transactions go further than cosmetics into play to win territory (but never as bad as any given EA game). I just want a fun shooter that takes a short learning curve and actually runs at a decent quality without crashing all the time, why is that so much to ask for?

Also need to add that all of the maps are complete garbage. They’re designed so you can shot from every single angle and I guess they probably did this to stop ppl from camping so much but here’s the thing, now you’ve got dudes camping a corner with the BUILT IN headglitch mechanic shooting my ass through a 2 pixel hole from across the map that I could never possibly see, it’s absurd
