This one has probably the tightest story, with gameplay almost as good as in other Arkham games. Same goes with the Cold, Cold Night DLC. However, the whole experience was marred with technical difficulties. I could live with frequent frame-rate drops, but there were so many instances when the game froze the entire system for me, that I wasn't sure I would ever finish. Ultimately, I did it twice, so if you are patient and don't mind restarting your PC every couple of sessions, you should play Origins.

This is the start of the decline of the Arkham series, after Arkham City this series started turning into Assassin's Creed lite, where they were pumping a new Arkham game out every 2 years. The first two Arkham games, despite their flaws were very solid super hero stealth/action games that had good stories, villains, and atmospheres. This game on the other hand just feels like Arkham City 1.5, yeah the city is a tiny bit bigger, yeah the gliding and mechanics are a little more refined, and hey jokers back, even if he was starting to overstay his welcome as the main villain of this series. But then we run into major problems, the story is just pointless and dull, its backstory, basically just filler, and the missions are nowhere near as fun or memorable as the previous game. Its more or less just the same old sneaking around and hanging enemies upside down while finding grates or ledges to hide on, fighting groups of enemies with timed button pushes, and dealing with Joker's lunacy. The boss fights in this are pretty dull as well, and to be honest it feels like the very definition of a filler game. Plus as much as I love Joker, he was beginning to get old, and after the way Arkham City handled him I feel it set the sequels up for a new villain, but then they brought him back for this and its just the same old Arkham. I mean theres not much to say, it plays like the other Arkhams but doesn't have a good story or interesting missions, its a game that can be completely skipped and nothing would be lost or missed.

Pretty cool game, though Asylum is very obviously still the best in the series for me.
It has some bugs, mainly in the transversal side of things, and there really is no need for this to be open world. The actual most annoying parts of the experience are going from one place to another, because sure as hell im not willing to climb more towers to unlock fast travel spots. The game is also littered with repetitive side objectives, and i feel that they should use that budget to expand on the main campaign.
The combat is very straight forward and fun when it gets going, but some enemies are annoying to fight against. I couldnt notice many differences coming off from the arkham games, besides a few new gadgets, they dont expand on the combat in any significant way.
The game is very formulaic in a sort of AAA way, but its well polished and an enjoyable ride.

if this just had a slightly better launch then people would have actually bothered to play it but like this shit came out 6 years ago and i still think about the catastrophic launch of this game and the subsequent radio silence i heard about it afterwards
Best boss fights of the series. Story is not that bad (and Bane doesn't act like a dumb bruiser for once), I just hate the lame unnecessary Black Mask twist. But it's still miles better than the one we got in Arkham Knight.
How can the combat be the best when it's so glitchy? How can the boss fights be the best when they're all the exact same? How can the story be the best when it's just a worse less logical version of city's story? I honestly think the rating here is a bit generous.
