Basic Math
say what you want about this, its just math, BASIC MATH, not any of that geometry stuff, not algebra, calculus or even advanced OR intermediate math, just BASIC MATH, good ol' fashioned arithmetic, i mean what did you expect? This was 1977, people only knew bell bottoms and pong back then, so to people then it likely seemed like the future, no more papers and pencils for your small children, just hide all the games and have them play this for 30 minutes first or whatever people in the 70's did.

Hell even atari didn't realize programmers would be clever enough to turn the 2600 from an advanced pong console into the system that could do games like: Space Invaders, Adventure, Battlezone, Pitfall 1&2, Donkey Kong, Galaxian, Jungle Hunt, Air Raiders, Berzerk, Mario Bros Arcade, Time Pilot, Bump and Jump, Solaris, Kung Fu (Master), Commando, Ikari Warriors, California Games, Skate Boardin', Klax, literally anything that shouldn't have been done on a console with only 128 BYTES of RAM, because thats what atari though people in the 70's wanted, a system made for Pong, Combat and anything else that could be done with 3 sprites and 128 BYTES of ram, they'll release the next console in 3 years for the 80's when we finally deserve a break from pong, basic math, combat and whatever else came out before people did the impossible... made arcade games people were actually playing in the 80's on the thing...

But aside from that, you will always know what this is, you will always get what you get from this, and atari knows it, hence why they re-release it every time they can in very random atari compilations, hell when i was struggling to pass the math exams i fiddled with this, it probably didnt do anything but we cant rule it out as i did eventually pass, with what was esentially a D or a C, so i'll give this a D+ just like i got in math.

Title
There is discreet pleasure in writing about a math game from the 1970s. Basically nothing is known about this game, the creator made only this game, did other stuff at Atari, and is now lost to history.

It at least tries to offer some variety. You get a sound when you get an answer right and after 10 questions you get marked out of ten.

In some rounds, you can set which math table you want to tackle. while others give you more complex sets.

Great, but outside the lame display of big chunky default Atari numbers, this game reeks of doing, well, basic math. I do like music slowly beeping up as you run out of time in the timed modes, but this seriously sucks as education too because if you want to learn division, you the game doesn't even teach you in the manual or otherwise. So you can't learn multiplication or as a kid, it just expects you to know it.

Only a curiosity for those checking early console games. A good one to show the difference between a good Atari game and a truly bad one.
