I NEED TO STOP PLAYING THIS GAME

Like seriously, this is one of those games that will make you mess up your sleep schedule with the "oh just one more game", and eventually make you cut off 2 hours from your normal sleep cycle. It is ridiculously addicting in the sense that you really want to get it better in the next game. I wasn't very impressed with Fortnite and PUBG and concluded that Battle Royale was just not a genre for me, but this game I feel does many things better.

Each game is made up of 20 squads of 3 players, in typical BR fashion parachuting into an island where the goal is to be the last squad standing. The early game consists of grabbing weapons the quickest possible so you can win fights against other players that are trying to do the same, and eventually the map gets smaller as the ring closes in until the final showdown with the remaining squads. What makes this more interesting is that the movements are very fast paced, the guns feel great and the map is really nice with all its building and heights. It doesn't have big empty fields and whatnot, every section is really tight and concise and feels very calculated. Another element the game adds is the legends characters which borrows from MOBA/Hero Shooters where each characters has unique abilities that make them stand out from others. At launch we have 8 legends available, but I'm really looking forward of the additions of others that will spice things up even more.

The game is still in its early stages and I feel that it needs to improve in some aspects, like we don't have a reporting system for toxic player (got called retarded a few times already). My biggest gripe is that there is no matchmaking algorithm (at least it doesn't seem like it) and I would like for equally skilled player to be paired together. It gets annoying getting killed by players with several hundreds of kills over and over, I feel it would be more interesting that the newbs would be paired with the newbs and let the pros duke it out together. Would be a better playing experience for lower skilled players like me, as I feel that I'm getting outplayed constantly. Another thing I would like to see is a ranked system, I very much like to see a ladder or whatever to see where am I at and if I'm improving or not, cause right now there isn't really any barometer of seeing how well you are doing overall. Still even with these things missing, I feel the base of the game is so good that it definitely has the potential to becoming an all-time classic over the years when things get more fleshed out.

I'm not much of a PvP shooter guy, despite Goldeneye and Perfect Dark being some of my favorite games a few decades ago, I used to feel that I was amazing at those games cause I was really good against my friends,,, but when online gaming started, I realized that we are all actually pretty terrible and totally getting wrecked compared to the insane players you find online. I feel Overwatch/Paladins is much more forgiving than BR since you do not get punished as much for dying, but I can't help wanting to play Apex Legends over and over again. I wish I had more experience in online shooters so that I could compete better, but there's just something about this one making you want to improve even if I only get a kill about every 5 games or so. Every game I feel that I'll do things better in the next one, but I get wrecked in a different way. Anyhow very fun game and surely will be one of the major events in 2019 gaming, its immense success is well deserved and I do hope they improve it over the upcoming patches.
