Angry Birds

Its way too easy to hate on this one, because its such a simple and basic game that managed to get so much sucess. The amount of money it got is definitly undeserved, but the game isnt half bad. You fling birds to hit pigs, and you must take into consideration the distance and objects between you and the target. It works, its charming in its own way, and its entertaining enough to play 5 minutes at a time. It lacks depth to play any further though.

Birdemic: Shock and Terror
Just like Crush the Castle, only more colorful and attractive looking. It's a game in which you must judge the angle and velocity of your catapult to hit some stuff on the other side. Simple enough, fun, and repetitive. You can always come back to it and have a sort of enjoyable experience. But if you play it enough, you're going to get dead sick of it. And if you think you could complete everything in it? Fat chance. And if you try? Ads out the ass. If you're waiting for an appointment, are waiting in the bathroom, or are just plain curious, pick it up once and be done with it. Beyond that, you have my full sympathy.

Oh, come on people, we've all played angry birds at one point in our lives. Yes, it's a cheap distraction as is most mobile gaming, however the idea of knocking over scaffolding occupied by pigs is fun for a little while and there is some strategy here that make it better than most of those awful Facebook games.

Although not the type of game that I would sit and play for hours on end, I always found Angry Birds to be a pleasant diversion. It was much more enjoyable on an iPad rather than a tiny phone screen. It is challenging, brainless, instant and disposable. And dirt cheap.
