Angels of Death

Decent enough RPG Maker horror game, but definitely no masterpiece or anything. The first two episodes of this four episode package are par for the course, with an excessively edgy horror premise that doesn't really make a lot of sense, and an indie as hell presentation that tries to cover up its technical shortcomings with bloodthirsty artwork. Past the halfway mark, things improve with an off-kilter stories that marries themes of finding religion, domestic violence, suicidal ideation and even a twisted version of the star-crossed lovers, adding up to a story that's spectacular in scope of attempted storytelling; only moderately successful, but it did keep me engaged just to see the depths of depravity the game's characters would sink to. Translation definitely needed some work too, but that's just how it goes with these games sometimes.
