Also I disagree with the complaints about game length- I've been replaying the game for the first time in several years and I'm on track to finish with a 16-17 hour runtime. I wouldn't want it any shorter as I find that the game mechanics and level design get the perfect amount of room to breathe. I also imagine a lot of people tend to fall into the trap of hiding in lockers/sitting in one place forever, tacking on a whole ton of playtime that could be saved by progressing with a steady walk and an escape route in mind.
Sadly wasn't nearly as impressed by the gameplay, that suffers from the usual archaic mechanics of survival horror games. The emphasis on infiltration/avoiding the Alien was cool, but most of the rest consisting of doing a shit ton of backtracking to unlock dozens of doors and terminals got tedious and repetitive. Also yeah the game feels a bit too long, mostly because it's super hard and the save system is fucking horrendous (at least on consoles), with save points so far apart from each other you sometimes have to do the same 10min long sections again if you die (including cutscenes and random huge loading screens). More of a cinematic/immersive experience than a gaming prowess in the end, but I'm fine with that.
Just beat it on nightmare my first playthrough. Took many repeated saves and sneaking around. The ending was terrible I'm sorry, completely unsatisfying and it worked neither as an ambiguous ending or as sequel bait. And one or two voice acting takes were embarrassingly bad. Other than that I really enjoyed it.
