The branching paths are largely unnecessary, irrelevant and just over-complicate and obfuscate a simpler narrative. There isn't even a reason thematically for branching paths to be an option in the first place like in previous Uchikoshi games, which makes it pointless.
Every branch throughout the whole game felt so independent and disconnected from the others that it was hard to follow or care what was happening. I felt like a passenger the entire game, just pressing A repeatedly until I get to when where the game decides to just get to the point. It doesn't work as well as it has in the past.
All the non-plot related stuff was very entertaining, the main plot was disappointing.
I'm only a few hours in but I'm not really a fan of the humor in this one. I think this game would benefit from taking itself more seriously. Also I kind of hate how every single companion character so far has the exact same "sassy assistant" dynamic with the protagonist
for me the first couple of hours are bit slow but once everything starts getting zero-escapey, pretty much all of it was forgiven
although the music number at the end bothered me a lot. total pace killer and it literally doesn't make any sense. i suppose it was all in good fun but it really left a sour taste in my mouth. also even though i had japanese voices on the song was in english for some reason
