AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack

Even if you like AC/DC, it would be difficult to justify getting a pack of their music if you weren't primarily a guitarist or vocalist. And if you fall on the vocalist side, you'll realize that this whole pack is full of live versions of these tracks, which saps you of singing these songs like you remember them from the studio versions.
There are plenty of classics on this disc, including "Thunderstruck", "TNT", and "Highway to Hell". Considering there's no way to acquire the studio versions of these tracks as official DLC (nor are they in other games like Guitar Hero), this is as close as you'll get to experiencing these tracks in a music game without having to use mods.
So it's better than nothing, isn't it? Though, I still wouldn't recommend this to anyone who isn't mainly focused on guitar in this game. Especially if you're a drummer.

This game is basically an expansion pack sold as a stand-alone game. There's no intro movie, no special modes, no character selection. It's simply 18 AC/DC live tracks that you play as a generic band in a generic location.

It seems a bit strange they sold the game as AC/DC Live but not included the actual band members or provided any footage to make you feel more involved in the performance. Due to the lack of content, people will be disappointed, but the good thing is that you can play it without buying any of the Rock Band games (you still need the instruments though).

A few tracks have extended sections like some bands do for certain live tracks, and every song ends in a drum roll and a flurry of the guitars where you just hammer the strum bar as fast as you can.

Personally, I'm not too familiar with the bands songs but they are fun if you are into classic rock. However, the bass guitar is often far too simple even on expert difficulty. Overall, its quite hard to recommend buying, but renting a game like this is perfect.

AC/DC was a great grab for the series! However, this live concert was hardly the ideal venue for their second appearance. The Brian Johnson originals are mostly fine, but the Bon Scott songs can sometimes feel so different, and Angus' performance is generally shabby, which actually affects chart quality here too. Still, it is what it is.
