A-Train 6

It really fucking sucks when you just cannot get your head around a game, because nothing, NOTHING is explained around it anywhere. It's sad because, sometimes, you lose some great gems for language or mechanical barriers.

Everyone (and when I say anyone it's like 3 people) assures A6's game manual is just as barren of tutorials as this game is. Oh, and there is no online guides nor manuals, so you're out of luck. I tried to get the grasp of it for at least 2 hours and I felt like I wasted my time. Everything works decently enough; it's just that I can't understand it for shit. There's not a single tutorial line other than the mission objective.

But even when the premise felt cool and seemed like there's quite deep customizable systems, the UI and the railroad construction portion were simply not good. It was fucking hell to try and connect a town to the other, as the terrain was annoyingly leveled and the roads simply wouldn't connect. And, when I could finally connect them, I noticed I needed to connect another one for the counter clockwise train. That's where I dropped it. It's a nightmare to control and fulfill your vision.

It's a shame, since I always wanted to get into train simulation games, and I'm sure this is NOT the way to get the hang of that Japanese niche. There's a big difference between "obtuse" and "uncomprehensible".

But I address, I haven't ever played an A-Train game, so it's probably the worst way of experiencing the franchise for the first time.
